Joseph Ma is the founder of JM Counsel, a Toronto commercial litigation boutique representing businesses and individuals in contract, shareholder, and commercial disputes. Joseph trained at a Bay Street litigation boutique, where he built a broad civil and commercial litigation practice focused on the efficient, strategic resolution of complex disputes — and he brings that same approach to every matter at JM Counsel.
Joseph’s practice covers breach of contract and commercial contract disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, oppression remedy claims, civil fraud, commercial real estate litigation, professional liability, defamation, and asset recovery and judgment enforcement, including cross-border enforcement matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants before the Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court, and the Small Claims Court, and advises clients on litigation strategy from the outset of a dispute through trial, appeal, and enforcement.
